Why to become a member?

A union federation (often referred to as a federation or confederation of trade unions) provides many key benefits to basic trade union organizations (i.e., unions operating directly within companies or institutions), strengthening their position and effectiveness.

The main benefits of membership include:

  • Increased bargaining power
  • Legal and expert support
  • Sharing information and best practices
  • Financial and material support
  • Solidarity and unity
  • Representation at national and international levels
  • Networking opportunities
  • Crisis management and conflict resolution
  • PR and communication
  • Capacity building and sustainability

It’s important to realize that a union federation is not only a support for basic trade union organizations in crisis situations, but also a strategic partner for long-term development and the enforcement of employees’ rights and interests at all levels.
