About us
Welcome to the Technologický odborový zväz (TOZ) website!
We are primarily the voice of employees in IT companies, shared service centers, and support organizations within the technology sector. We are a modern and dynamic trade union founded with a clear goal: to represent and protect the rights and interests of employees working in this constantly evolving sector in Slovakia.
We created this union because we realized that employees of these employers in Slovakia have not had specific trade union representation at a higher level until now. We believe this is a dynamic and innovative sector that deserves an equally modern and informed approach to protecting employee rights, similar to what exists in the manufacturing sphere. From telecommunications and IT, through financial technologies, to customer support – our members are the heart and brain of the modern economy.
Our Mission
Our mission is to represent, protect, and promote the rights and interests of all employees working in IT companies, shared service centers, and support organizations within the technology sector. We actively support the establishment and development of basic trade union organizations at employers where no specific trade union representation has existed until now. We strive to ensure fair and dignified working conditions for everyone.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a strong and united community of employees in the technology sector that will have a respected voice in shaping the work environment. We want to be a leader in protecting labor rights in this sector, to be helpful in solving the challenges brought by digital transformation and the constantly changing labor market, and thereby contribute to the sustainable and fair development of the Slovak economy.
Our values
Our operations are built on the firm foundations of values that guide us in our daily activities:

How do we want to achieve this?
We support the creation of new trade unions: If a basic trade union organization doesn’t yet exist at your employer, we’re here for you! We’ll provide you with full support and advice on setting one up. We’ll help you with the entire process, from the first steps to registration and the start of operations. We believe a strong trade union organization is key to better working conditions for everyone.
We represent you: We are a strong voice for your basic trade union organizations in negotiations with employers at all levels – from local issues to national initiatives.
We protect your rights: We actively oversee compliance with the Labor Code, collective agreements, and internal regulations to ensure your work is fair and in line with legislation.
We negotiate better conditions: We work to improve working conditions, fair remuneration, benefits, and workplace safety.
We provide advice: We offer our members legal advice and support on employment-related matters.
We educate and inform: We organize training and seminars focused on labor law, negotiation, and other topics important for trade union activities.
We build community: We connect employees and trade union organizations to exchange experiences and strengthen our collective power.
